Welcome to Live Oak Preschool!

Founded in 1974, Live Oak Preschool is dedicated to building a superior foundation for lifelong learning in a nurturing, loving environment. We are a private, non-profit preschool for children of ages 2.9 years through 6 years of age. When first opening its doors in 1974, it was the first private preschool in Healdsburg. The McCord House where Live Oak is located has a special history with children in the community. It was home to Charles and Florence McCord where music lessons were given for over 50 years. Susan Morgan purchased the home in 1988 and then sold it to the Live Oak Board of Directors in 1996. Live Oak is fortunate to own this 100-year old home that continues to nurture the spirit of children and be a school for many years to come.

We have grown from a small number of children to over ninety children currently attending, with families from Healdsburg, Windsor, Cloverdale and Santa Rosa. Live Oak continues to be strongly connected to these communities and is proud to see the many accomplishments of its graduates.

The school is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of community members and parents. The Board serves as the policy making body of the school and includes roles in planning and evaluation, programs, finance, legal, personnel, board governance, fundraising, maintenance, and public relations.
