Thoughts of a Live Oak Parent "The more time I spend at schools other than Live Oak the more I appreciate what Live Oak is all about. I now know that academics happen soon, very soon. I know that even kindergarten seems too young to be doing homework. The magic is still very much alive in kindergarten but kids do “hit the books”. In first grade I realized why academics in kindergarten were so important. In first grade there is less wonder and more of the real world. By the time a kid is seven she is a student who must know how to sit and listen and follow directions. If she can’t participate properly in school by this time then it’s quite possible her school experience will be sour for years to come. "Now I see how Live Oak gives kids their wings. At Live Oak the world away from home is approached safely, slowly and enjoyably. It is a gentle place where children explore the world of school, other kids and how to be a student. Live Oak is about the magic and wonder of the world. I am thankful for its experienced and caring teachers. I am glad it doesn’t judge or push children and I think children’s boosted confidence is a product of this. "I am proud to be a part of a program that enables children the way Live Oak does, and, I’m thankful that my own kids’ lives will always be better because Live Oak was a part of them." "The kids have fun ... the parents have fun ... and the teachers have fun, what more could you ask for! Live Oak is a wonderful destination for learning, playing and imagination ... truly, the premiere preschool in Sonoma County!" Jo Ann & George Bursick
"We’re lucky to have such a wonderful preschool in this community." Anonymous "This has been a truly amazing place to watch our children flourish. This is the perfect place to start your childs' education. The sense of community is especially strong here." Gus & Gillian Morris' parents (Jim & Donna) "We became members of the Live Oak extended family five years ago, when our oldest daughter was enrolled in the 3’s program. Now, as our youngest blooms in her second year at Live Oak, we are so grateful for every way our family has been nurtured in this wonderful 'village'. As a team, Live Oak staff members are child development experts who delight in providing a stimulating, nurturing, cooperative, safe and joyful place for children to play, learn and grow. As individuals, Live Oak staff members are very important "Big People" to our children, never too busy for all of the small things that matter so much. When our daughter approaches a teacher to share a story, get help with a friendship problem or just for a little hug or reassurance, she feels valued, safe and that she matters! We have felt comfortable about asking specific advice on parenting preschoolers, and confident that we are involved in a respectful partnership that has our child’s best interests at heart. Live Oak’s message to children is: 1) You are important and lovable, 2) We can work together, and 3) The world is a wonderful place! Thank you, Live Oak!" Holly

"I’m very thankful and confident my children had the very best preschool experience possible. God Bless You!" Anonymous "The program was one that has helped guide my son from being a "lone" child to one who will talk and be excited and laugh with his teachers and peers. A wonderful development without overt pressure." Yolyn Goldschmidt "Live Oak was a marvelous way for our daughters to be introduced to school. The school, teachers and the other parents created a warm, safe and loving place for them to venture forth out into the world on their own for the first time." Jennifer & Paul Tincknell "The environment and love that our children have is irreplaceable." Anonymous |
